Added a lineup of ceramic capacitors (GCM series) for automotive applications
Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has developed a 10µF monolithic ceramic capacitor, "GCM21BC71E106ME36" (hereinafter referred to as "this product"), for automotive 12V linear smoothing applications. This product boasts the largest capacitance among the company's products with a size of 2012M and a rated voltage of 25V, and has begun mass production in February 2021.
In recent years, electrification has steadily progressed due to the increasing popularity of driverless systems and electric vehicles. Consequently, the number of monolithic ceramic capacitors installed in a single vehicle has rapidly increased. Therefore, there is a growing need for components that are smaller, have a larger capacitance, and offer greater safety.
Compared to the company's 3216M monolithic ceramic capacitors, this product achieves miniaturization with a volume reduction of approximately 63% through the use of the company's proprietary thin-layer technology. This contributes to a reduction in board space. In addition, long-term reliability high-temperature load tests guarantee operation for 1000 hours under the highest operating temperature and a rated voltage of 150%, achieving the same high reliability as the company's conventional products.
